Thai indie-pop artist James Alyn—also the lead vocalist of the internationally acclaimed duo HYBS—is set to release his long-awaited debut solo album, 2019. The album features 11 tracks and showcases his growth both as a creator and as a person—an introspective yet empowering new chapter.

The year 2019 was a global turning point, and for James Alyn, it was also the beginning of personal change. During the pandemic, he began writing songs in English, and those works became the foundation of 2019. Blending a dreamy indie-pop atmosphere with delicate emotional storytelling, the record feels like a musical diary.

The album opens with its title track, “2019,” and follows a melodic journey through heartbreak, healing, longing, and release. On “Take My Body” and “Dim The Lights,” his vocals and emotional intensity are especially striking, while “Fool” and “Walk Out The Door” bring the album to a quiet yet resolute close.

Alyn says: “This album is a ‘time capsule of memories’—feelings I couldn’t put into words back then can finally be expressed through music.”
